Kota Doria

Collection: Kota Doria

Kota Doria is a traditional hand woven fabric that originates from Kota, a city in the state of Rajasthan, India. This fabric has a long history dating back to the 17th century. It is highly valued for its lightweight and breathable nature, making it ideal for hot and humid climates.

Kota Doria is woven on a traditional pit loom, known as the "khaddi." The fabric is usually made from a blend of cotton and silk yarns, resulting in a lightweight and airy texture. The checkered weave pattern called "khat" is the hallmark of Kota Doria.

The finesse and porous nature of Kota Doria gives it a delicate appearance. But the fine weave is surprisingly sturdy and can withstand regular use and washing.

Kota Doria is mostly adorned with other artisanal crafts such as Bagru, Dabu and Sanganeri block prints making it a true masterpiece of artistry.
